About

Barley is a 9-10lb. ball of soft and fluffy energy with just the right mix of cuddles and snuggles. He is about 8 months old and seems to be almost house trained - but is using puppy pads like a champ! He hasn't quite figured out how to tell us he wants out yet (or we haven't learned his signs), but he always goes to the same spot by the door! He has some long powerful legs and can jump higher than you might expect (probably the Poodle in him), but usually, once he is up on bed or sofa, he will lay down next to you for loving (or even fall asleep in your arms like a baby). Barley is a typical energetic puppy and gets the zoomies and flies around the house. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and really enjoys playing with the young big dog. This has made him play rough with dogs his size. He gets excited to see kids and tends to jump because he's so happy to see someone new! (We are working on that too.) He enjoys his bath time and sleeps well all night in his kennel - although he can be a bit vocal when he knows people are still up in the other room. He prefers softer toys and will grab socks if they are around!! Please note that we don't recommend Barley for families with kids under 5.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at [email protected] requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention.

All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
