About

The dogs and cats in our program are being given a second chance at life and we are dedicated to giving them an opportunity to thrive in the care of their new families. We make every effort to find the best match for each pet. Therefore, pets are not chosen on a first come, first serve basis; but rather, the most suitable applicant for each particular pet is chosen.

We discuss the responsibilities of adding a new pet to the family, and educate every adopter about nutrition, behavior, training, medical care, and more. This enables the adopter to be fully prepared for their new family member’s transition into their new home. Adoptions are never completed on a first come, first serve basis but rather the best fit for both the animal and adoptive family.

EARS Texas About

Before You Adopt

It’s important to ask these questions before adopting your rescue pet.

  • Do you have pets of your own that would not do well with the addition of another animal to the family?
  • If you have pets of your own, do they get along with other dogs and cats?
  • Are they spayed and/or neutered?
  • Are they up to date on all their vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on a monthly preventative?
  • Are you committed to this and willing to accept the added expense of your time, including training, which is beneficial to all dogs, and is required.
